Back to School Updates & Reminders

Dear Families,

The first day of school is Monday, August 25, and we are excited to welcome students back! As always, safety is our top priority. Please use extra caution next week—watch carefully for students walking and biking, and be mindful of school buses and district transportation. Your patience and attentiveness will help keep everyone safe as we begin a new year together.

Elementary/Middle School Construction Update
 We learned today that the renovated office space, west entrance, and corridor at EMS will not be ready for the start of school. The new transition date is Tuesday, September 2. Until then:

• All students and guests will enter through the middle school doors.

• The EMS office will remain on the east side of the cafeteria, in the same location as last spring.

We are aware that the construction timeline continues to evolve. When we are notified of updates, we work diligently to communicate with our families and community as quickly as possible. To ensure you stay informed, we encourage you and your family members to register for ParentSquare, the district’s primary communication and notification system.

Student Arrival
Students may begin arriving at 7:30 a.m., but buildings will not open until 7:45 a.m. for breakfast.

Personal Devices
Please remind your children about the new state law and district policy that prohibit personal device use during school hours (7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.). Devices must be powered off and stored in lockers or backpacks upon entering the building. Thank you for reinforcing this expectation at home.

Community Bus Stops
Bus stop locations are marked with yard signs. We encourage parents and community members to help keep these areas safe and to contact the district or law enforcement if concerns arise.
