New Food Service Application

School Cafe

Due to our current food service provider, Total Access going out of business, we have made the transition to a new provider, School Cafe. School Cafe is the leading school nutrition management software for K-12 school districts and food service providers in the United States.

Parents/Guardians will be able to manage their child’s cafeteria account, apply for free or reduced meals, make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts and view school menus that include nutritional and allergen information for items. Parents/Guardians may also set up automatic payments to replenish your child’s cafeteria funds.

Beginning August 4, parents and guardians can create an account and apply for free or reduced lunch.  We are working to transfer account balances that remained at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.  School Cafe accounts are per student versus the family accounts. Parents and guardians will be able to add funds for their entire family to their account.

Our online district site, https://family.schoolcafe.com/CCSCD,  is where families will be able to create their accounts, add their children to their account, apply for benefits, enter allergens, set limitations on account purchases, and make payments. Parents can download the School Cafe app on their smartphone to monitor and manage their food service accounts.

Staff members can create their accounts as well. Staff members who have students in the district should create a family account instead of a staff account.

Free and Reduced Application

Completing the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application is about more than just meals—it helps support your family and our schools.

Even if you don't think you qualify, submitting an application can:

  • Provide nutritious meals at no or reduced cost to your child

  • Support funding for school programs, such as classroom resources, technology, and academic support

  • Help qualify your family for additional benefits, like reduced or waived instructional fees

Every approved application helps our district receive valuable federal funding that benefits all students.  The application process is confidential and not public information.

You can complete the application online quickly and securely through our school portal. If you need assistance, please contact our Food Service Director, Teresa Clark, at tclark@crestonschools.org or call 641-782-7028.

Thank you for supporting your child and our school community!

Instructional Fees

Instructional fees will be assessed on August 1. Those fees will be paid with the same process as previous years. Parents/Guardians will log into their Power School Accounts and select the balance tab on the left hand side and follow the steps provided. Instructions can be found via the link. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s building Administrative Assistant.
