Subject: ALICE Safety Drills at Creston Schools

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. This week, Creston Schools will be conducting ALICE safety drills as part of our continued commitment to providing a secure learning environment.

ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate—a nationally recognized program that helps schools respond effectively in emergency situations. These drills provide students and staff with practical, age-appropriate safety skills that can be applied in a variety of circumstances..

Drills will be conducted in a calm and age-sensitive manner, emphasizing awareness, decision-making and preparedness-not fear. Our goal is to help students feel confident and understand that these practices are in place to keep them safe.

We encourage you to discuss the importance of safety drills with your child and reassure them that this is simply part of how we keep our schools secure. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at mpashek@crestonschools.org.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our schools safe.

Sincerely,
Mitch Pashek
School Resource Officer
