Mr. Casey Tanner became our Creston 1st-5th Elementary Principal in July of 2022. Prior to that, Mr. Tanner served as the district's 1st-8th Dean of Students for two years and was a middle school math teacher six years before that. Mr. Tanner started his teaching career at Orient-Macksburg in 2012 as their 4th grade teacher and served in that role for two years before moving to Creston. Throughout all of these experiences, Mr. Tanner has also coached a variety of sports from football, wrestling, track & field, and strength & conditioning.

Mr. Tanner graduated from Orient-Macksburg in 2008 before attending Central College in Pella, Iowa. Where he majored in Elementary Education with an endorsement in K-8 mathematics and was also a three year starter for their football program before graduating in 2012. Later in his teaching career, Mr. Tanner earned his Master's degree through completion of the Educational Leadership program through Dordt University in 2019. Casey is married to his wife Taylor (CCHS '16) who is a Middle School ELA teacher at Creston and coaches High School Cross Country & Track.
